Technology
sMartex rotary displacement pile
The sMartex pile holds the largest market share among displacement bored piles in Switzerland. Wherever noise emissions and vibration make driving impossible, it is the advantageous choice as an energy pile.
Performance data
Strong, deep, quiet.
For great depths of more than 40 m in particular, the sMartex pile stands out as an extremely powerful and therefore economical pile system. One of the main reasons for this is the patented sMartex tip, which makes the drilling process reliable.
- Pile depth
- more than 40 m
- Torque
- max. 500 kNm
- Pull-down force
- 50 t
- Pull-up force
- max. 100 t
- Emissions
- low noise, no vibration
- Air quality

Production
Six steps to the energy pile.
sMartex piles are produced with low noise and cause no vibration. The equipment used reflects the latest state of the art.
-
Seal the casing
The drill casing is sealed watertight with the patented sMartex tip.
-
Drill to depth
With a torque of up to 500 kNm and a pull-down force of 50 t, the casing is drilled to the required depth.
-
Place the reinforcement
The pile reinforcement, fitted with PE pipes, is placed into the empty, dry casing and locked immovably to the drilling tip. The reinforcement cannot be pulled up.
-
Concreting
The casing is completely filled with concrete. This rules out hydraulic base failure.
-
Extract the casing
The casing is pulled up with a maximum pull-up force of 100 t, and the settlement of the concrete column is monitored. The reinforcement fixed to the tip guarantees a pile of the highest quality.
-
Finished pile
The energy pile is in place — produced with low noise and free of vibration, ready to be fitted with the geothermal probe package.
Energy piles in comparison
Every subsoil calls for a different system.
The SOB or conventional bored pile (continuous flight auger pile) can likewise be used as an energy pile. Its advantages lie — besides high load-bearing requirements — in soils that cannot be displaced, or only with difficulty.
The Pilotherm® spun concrete pile offers the greatest customer benefit as an energy pile wherever driving is possible. Wherever noise emissions and vibration make driving impossible, the sMartex rotary displacement pile is the advantageous choice.
